Happy Hula Hoopers!
I shot this down at the Harbourfront on Saturday. Someone posted a sign that read: Today is national hula hoop day. There were hoops everywhere for the taking. I tried my hips at it too (no I am not in this photo) I think I may have found my new favourite sport though.Btw, if anyone knows who organized this event, please let me know. I'd like to get my hands on one of these "professional" hoops.

Sky over Woodrow, SK

Anyone who has been to Saskatchewan knows that the limitless sky is one of its most envied features. The grain elevators in the distance mark Woodrow, once a small farmers' town.
Graeme Patterson (my talented brother-in-law) has created an art installation based on this town. The exhibit is currently on display in Montreal, part of the Montreal Biennale.

Pelican landing

While in Saskatoon, I haven't had a chance to keep this updated daily. I have however, taken a lot of photos. Here is a Pelican landing in the South Saskatchewan river that winds through Saskatoon. Here the birds hang out around the weir.
Stay tuned for photos from stock car racing and soon to come, from the farm.
