Southern Saskatchewan. Shortly before I got to ride in the plane - my first time in a Cessna. It was a perfect evening for flying, extremely clear, no turbulence.

Prairie Grass

Another one from our vacation in Saskatchewan. Living in Toronto (a city I love) it is easy to appreciate the wide open space and miles of empty highways in the prairies. The vastness does give a sense of freedom.

Mustard fields aplenty in southern Saskatchewan. I miss the big blue sky.

Sky over Woodrow, SK

Anyone who has been to Saskatchewan knows that the limitless sky is one of its most envied features. The grain elevators in the distance mark Woodrow, once a small farmers' town.

Graeme Patterson (my talented brother-in-law) has created an art installation based on this town. The exhibit is currently on display in Montreal, part of the Montreal Biennale.

Stock Car Racing

On our second night in Saskatoon, we got out to see some stock car racing. Here's a shot to prove that #36 took this race.

Pelican landing

While in Saskatoon, I haven't had a chance to keep this updated daily. I have however, taken a lot of photos. Here is a Pelican landing in the South Saskatchewan river that winds through Saskatoon. Here the birds hang out around the weir.
