The invisible artist

This was one of the best pieces we came across last Saturday night in Kensington Market. Aside from the curated projects, Nuit Blanche seemed to draw many artists to the streets. If you look closely you'll see the artist, though he blends well with the mural.

Looking into light

The second annual ScotiaBank Nuit Blanche took place last night (and this morning). The exhibit pictured, located in an old Police Station on Strachan, was entitled White Line Light and examined the limits of light and sound.

Expect more pics from the event in the coming days.

A couple pics from the Canadian International Air Show. This is a quick post, as I filter through all the shots I'll probably add more. The show continues tomorrow, if you're in Toronto check it out.

As part of the Just for Laughs Toronto tour there were outdoor festivities Saturday night at Yonge/Dundas Square. I'll be posting some of my faves.

Disembodied and framed

This was taken with my old lens. It's handheld in low light, but the fuzziness (also due to the lens) kind of works. I like the textures and warm tones in this image. There's something a little strange and dreamy to the image and something "off" about it, which is somewhat bothersome - and yet I like that feeling of discomfort.

Happy Hula Hoopers!

I shot this down at the Harbourfront on Saturday. Someone posted a sign that read: Today is national hula hoop day. There were hoops everywhere for the taking. I tried my hips at it too (no I am not in this photo) I think I may have found my new favourite sport though.

Btw, if anyone knows who organized this event, please let me know. I'd like to get my hands on one of these "professional" hoops.

On the Boardwalk

I shot this image on a beautiful day in April, on Toronto's lakefront boardwalk. It was taken with my Tamron lens, which I have now put out of commission in favour of my new Sony Zeiss lens. The focus is a little fuzzy but I like the way the colours pop.

Graffiti Girl

I had forgotten how meditative photography is, it makes me see more of what is around me. Today I enjoyed having my camera with me and testing the sharpness of my new lens. Here's a shot from the parking lot at Keele subway.
