Cloudy sky and trees
Inspired by my Audrey's recent exhibit and looking through my car's sunroof, I shot a series of sky pics yesterday. This was shot while driving (someone else was at the wheel of course).

Flowers and wood
A good friend and artist, Audrey Davis, recently had her vernissage for Looking Up at Gallery GillygGooly in North Hatley, Quebec. This photo was taken outside the gallery.

Vernazza, Italia
I took this photo last September while on my honeymoon in Italy. Vernazza was my favourite of the Cinque Terre. We completed an 11km walk from town to town along the edge of the sea, retracing steps that have been covered for centuries by those who lived here. Before the railway and roads were built, these paths were the only way that connected these towns.
It was the highlight of our trip.
Recommendation for anyone going (and you should go!). If you want to see all the towns, start at Riomaggiore and walk toward Monterosso al Mare - this way the sun will be at your back most of the way. Wear sturdy hiking boots or running shoes - except for the first portion (the shortest) which is a leisurely walk on a paved path, it can get quite treacherous and your flip flops won't do. This sign sums it up, click to enlarge.

Montreal escape hatch
Finally, back with a post. I've been a little neglectful, I admit. Just a little distracted from the summer warmth and activities. However I have been snapping while away, so I am accumulating a lot of fodder for this blog. A good thing. And I do intend to get my posting schedule back in shape.
On another note, I've realized that this exercise of posting pics online has forced me to think about digital media storage and organization. I have recently begun a new system of saving the pics I put on this site, which I hope will prove to be more effective. Though I don't have complete faith that in two months I won't be shaking my head and wondering why, WHY I didn't catalogue the images differently. If anyone has suggestions for media storage, let me know. I haven't invested in a DB system just yet... but if I ever become more sophisticated, i.e. launch, custom program (and pay for) a real web URL, I may want it to be DB driven, no?
