Pelican landing

While in Saskatoon, I haven't had a chance to keep this updated daily. I have however, taken a lot of photos. Here is a Pelican landing in the South Saskatchewan river that winds through Saskatoon. Here the birds hang out around the weir.

Stay tuned for photos from stock car racing and soon to come, from the farm.

Thanks Cherry! I'm following your lead. I think it's a great way to keep me shooting! I also got a nice new lens which helps a lot too! :) Hope you keep coming back!

What lens is that?
And what camera are you using?

I'm seriously thinking of going digital. Now that I have almost made up my mind, I just need to find the money to buy new equipment! ^.^

I know what you mean. It's an investment up front, but you save money on film and scanning (save time too!)

My camera is a Minolta Konica Maxxum 7D 6MegaPx. It's been a great camera. But I don't think you can find them anymore, because Sony apparently bought Minolta.

The lens I got is a Sony (Zeiss) 16-80mm 3.5-4.5. (It's equivalent to a 24-120mm on a regular SLR). Very sharp and I like the wide angle (my old lens was a crappy Tamron and the widest it went was 28mm). This lens is great for all-around use.

Let me know what you end up with. I know you can get some pretty good Nikon or Canon packages for close to $1000 - those seem to be the most popular cameras, as always.
