As for the lens, it's my 16-80mm Sony Zeiss F3.5-4.5 - is that fast? I don't know. Not sure what you mean.
It's not the "fastest" lens but it's not bad either. A "fast" lens means you can have an aperture of f 2 or something. Sorry for the techie-talk but I've been shopping for a digital SLR all week so that's why I think about things like that.
I'm debating getting the pentax K10D or going with a Nikon D80. decisions, decisions, decisions...

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I guess the larger aperture allows for faster shutter speeds, i.e. a "fast" lens. gotcha.
I wish I could have gotten a faster lens but it's expensive!
I'm not familiar with the Pentax line of D-SLRs, but I know the Nikon series are very popular.
